School Construction - Fall 2011 / Winter 2012

Ayeyarwaddy International School was founded in 2011 by U Aung Ko Latt, a local entrepreneur whose dream was to bring to Mandalay an exceptional school which would prepare local, national, and international students for university life through an academic program using English as the language of instruction. With the financial support of the CEO family (U Liu You Guang and Daw Gao Cai Mei), construction of the main campus was completed in early 2012, and our first full academic year began in May of that same year with an enrollment of just over 400 students. Word of what we were doing in our first year spread quickly, and this resulted in a jump in enrollment to over 700 students for our second year.

Now in our sixth year of operation, we currently enroll over 1,000 students from Preschool to Grade 12, and we are proud to announce that 100% of the students from our first graduating class - the Class of 2017 - were accepted into universities in the United States. Both AIS and Myanmar are in the midst of a tremendous growth period, and the sky is the limit in terms of what our students and this country can achieve in the future.
